Pamporovo Restaurants In general, Pamporovo is really well-supplied with great variety of restaurants and bars, providing a wide plenty of cuisine and dishes in reasonable prices but most visitors usually prefer the local folk taverns, where whole sheep are roasted over open fires and dancers in folklore costumes participate in interesting traditional colorful entertainment. There is a great number of eating places, which suggest home-made pub grub, mouth-watering steaks, a selection of pizza and pasta and even various dishes, appropriate for vegetarians, too. Also, you can find restaurants that offer more up market dining, together with huge collection of Bulgarian wines.   Traditional Meals There are a number of restaurants in Pamporovo, that could significantly worth your attention. There you will find daily menu presents lots of the simple "comfort" food, such as bangers "n" mash, pub grub, through delicious T-bone steaks, up to a great selection of pizza and pasta, together with different meals for the Vegeta- rians. They offer typical Bulgarian cuisine from the Rhodopi mountains, and especially lamb and potatoes. Their menu include Bulgarian cuisine and some popular in- ternational meals. In addition, there is a great variety of restaurants in which the traditional Rhodope cuisine includes lamb kebab or cheverme, stuffed vine lea- ves or sarmi, white bean stew or smolenski bob, and a local variation of the traditional Bulgarian cheese banitsa with potatoes or so-called potatnik. It was founded in 1971 by Bay Panayot (you can see his monument in the back yard of the restaurant). There are 2 main halls in the restaurant for max. 350 persons. There is live music orchestra playing mainly folklore music and songs. Sometimes there is a special folklore show with songs and dances.Food: The food served here is mainly local, from the region of Rhodopi mountain. The main specialty is "cheverme" - lamb on bar- beque. But also available is vegetarian food, many Bulgarian salads, etc. The wine selection in this restaurant consists of 30 types of Bulgarian red and white wines. One can easily find it: it is located in the beginning of the resort. The place is designed in national style. There are 2 main halls in the restaurant for maximum 150 persons. One of the halls is more quiet and non-smoking.
